The boat's best features I love the tiller control. This more then anything has helped me hone my sailing skills, it just gives you a great feel for the boat. In addition at night it pivots completely out of the way to provide an open cockpit area for dinning. This boat is incredible easy to sail, yet possess enough sailing area the boat moves great in light wind. Reefing has allowed me to sail her comfortable in 30 knot winds. Wing keel is a must for the Chesapeake, as it draws only 3-1/2 feet of water. It is comfortable for the weekend with 3 people. It has incredible storage for trips longer then a weekend. Transom is great for getting in and out of the water on hot summer days. The motor whom we call Mr. Reliable has never failed to start on the first turn of the key. Easy access to the motor also makes me feel comfortable if there was a problem.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The throttle on the motor has a tendency to stick, but this is easy fixed with a little lubricant.
Sailing characterisitcs Great boat form a learner to an experienced pro. Large sailing area with roller jib, and reefing points allow you to sail in almost any wind.
