If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes
Gear that's been added Harken micro-block to outhaul. Tohatsu 2.5hp outboard.
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features Overhead boom clearance, Stability.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Cockpit/Transom design creates a reach problem when using the motor or raising/ lowering the rudder. The owner's manual was vauge and never mentions the 146. It only refers to thew 140. Also, it appears to have been coppied on a xerox machine.
Sailing characterisitcs Very maneuverable, easy to make way in light winds.
Motoring characterisitcs Transom design limits access to motor controls.
Liveability Wouldn't try it!
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Bought through dealer. However attempted contact via phone and e-mail regarding owner's manuel (see above) got no response whatsoever.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought from the Sailing Life in Portland Oregon. Wonderful staff!
Other comments Fantastic first boat just wish manufacture support was more accessable
