Review of the Hunter 26 by Pat Corbisiero

Year built 1994
Location of boat Barnegat Bay, N.J.
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1994
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Probaly would, the reason being the areas where I sail are very shoal in some spots so having the center board makes life alot easier.
Gear that's been added Wheel steering,Standard St.50 depth,knot
Structural or complex improvements Wheel Steering system
The boat's best features Great looking boat, easy to sail, lots of room below
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. We had a couple of minor problem, but nothing worth talking about.
Sailing characterisitcs She sails best between 10-15 Knots. A little tender in stronger winds,so you just have to know when to reef.We keep up with most larger boats witout any problems. All
Motoring characterisitcs Motors well with my 9.9 Honda, and with the wheel steering, One thing to note though when wheel steering is installed you dont get the same hard over as with tiller, but so far it works perfect!
Liveability Good room below for a couple with a child or two. Has port-a pottie, would be alot better with a regular marine head but on a whole it's a good weekender!
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Very good with there customer service. Always recieved prompt and curtious responses from them. So far they have stood behind there product.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Also very good!
