Review of the Hunter 25.5 by Neil King

Year built 1985
Location of boat New Bern, NC
The boat is sailed on Rivers
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. It's a fairly stable boat, points well, and responds well to the helm. Enclosed head is a plus. 4.5' draft is good for our shallow waters.
Gear that's been added I added roller furling, replace the forward hatch, and installed a new outboard. The boat came well equipped: VHF with mast-mounted antenna, auto-helm, dual batteries, batt. charger, new bilge pump, and an elec. pump on the fresh water.
Structural or complex improvements No.
The boat's best features Good handling.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Roller furler was temperamental at first, but installer has worked out the bugs.
