Year built 1995
Location of boat Browershaven, Holland
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in Sail
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Probably
Gear that's been added nothing special
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Easy to trailerSpacious interiorWide open cockpitOpen transumraise and lower mast by yourself
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Hunter did an awful job deciding onhow to finish off the non-slip surface on the top deck. This surface attractsall the dirt, scuff marks, road blackand stains easily. This surface is extremely difficult to keep clean. I have used a combinationof cleaning products and I thinkHunter should relook the idea of puttingthe same non-skid surface on the h26 that is on the h28.
Sailing characterisitcs light and fast. Points well intothe wind. Powerful.
Motoring characterisitcs the motorwell is very tight. A 9.9 hp motor takes upalmost the entire alotted space. Thereis a great chance of damaging thesurrounding gel coat if your not careful.
Liveability I like it. It has as much if not more room in it than bigger boats I havelooked at. The rear berth is verycomfortable to sleep in.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Sailor's Wharf in St. Pete, Florida treated me like a bought a 40 footer.Super place and staff. Check them outin Sail Magazine ad. Jim Henson isa charm to deal with.
