Review of the Hunter 33_77-83 by Kurt

Year built 1982
Location of boat Austin, TX
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? Yes
Owner bought the boat in 1997
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, she out preforms most all boats I have sailed with. I have never had any major problems and she seems to be very well built.
Gear that's been added
Structural or complex improvements I removed the wood floor in the galley area and replaced it with real stone tile. This has held up great and suffers no ill affects from getting wet. I also put in new counter tops, relined the head with real wood and varnished everything in sight.
The boat's best features She sails increadably well. I have no problem outrunning catilinas, pearsons or any other boat of equal size.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I would like a life line gate for ease of access and perhaps a few more ponys in the engin.
Sailing characterisitcs GREAT!!!!!!Pionts great!!!!!!!
Motoring characterisitcs A bit underpower but hey, its a sailboat.
Liveability Ive lived on board for almost 7 years and would'nt trade it for anything.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A
