Sailing characterisitcs This is a followup to my earlier review (see below). My wife and I took it thru a whole range of conditions: sunny, 5-10 knots wind --> no wind and motored for 2 hours --> thunderstorm and drifting with lights on and sails down --> double-reefed main, no headsail, 25-30 knots wind --> 10-15 knots wind with both sails. The boat was easy to handle, the sails ditto and we never felt like the boat was unsafe. Just to let you know she is a stout little ship.
Motoring characterisitcs Remember the movie "The African Queen"? With the Renault R8D you can be Humphrey Bogart, your s.o. Katherine Hepburn! Puckada, puckada, puckada. Install a loop and vac. release valve in the water line to the exhaust and the rugged little diesel will just thump along.
