Review of the Hunter 26.5 by J. Bee Bednar

Year built 1989
Location of boat Waterford Marina, Kemah, Tx
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1996
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yep. Got it so cheap I couldn't resistSails at about 5.0Knts to weather and will do hull speed while running
Gear that's been added Compass, Knot, Depth, and a VHF
Structural or complex improvements Bottom Job
The boat's best features Easy and fun to sail
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Engine fell off...Due to lack of forsight andknowledge of previous owner
Sailing characterisitcs Smooth and quick. Sail/Disp Ratio of 18.05makes it fast enough to be a bit morethan a cruiser
Motoring characterisitcs A small 8hp outboard runs well and sinceits mounted with full remote controls itworks just like an inboard
Liveability Litte small for me...6' 250#, but wouldwork well for smaller folk
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Good. Sent me exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it and didn't charge a lot
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
