Review of the Hunter 240 by William P. Sieber

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I love this little boat. It does everything I want it to do, so yes I would do it again.  
Gear that's been added I am just getting started adding to the boat. I have added a tiller pilot, a diffent table and some 12 volt outlets. More to come!  
Structural or complex improvements No and I do not plan to at this time.  
The boat's best features This boat sails like a real sail boat but trailers like a smaller boat. Set up is easy and generally it is just an all around great lake boat!  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The table is cheaply constructed and is fixed in a single position. Also it does not break down so it is hard to store when not being used. I do not like the way the jib sheet cleat works and will be solving that soon. The electrical system works fine, but I am not happy with the way that it is wired.  
Sailing characterisitcs Generally this give a bigger boat feel. It seems to sail fast for the size of boat that it is and generally has been comfortable.  
Motoring characterisitcs I use a 10 hp Honda. It motors like any sailboat. Frankly I use the motor to get away from and back into the the dock and not much else.  
Liveability Great for camping for the weekend, but not a boat you could live on. Hey it is 24' feet long.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I have not had any dealing with Hunter except for the neat little cooler they sent me.  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Dealer did just fine. No complaints.  
Other comments Had I know what the market was going to do - I would have purchased the 260!!!
