Review of the Hunter 340 by NEVER MONDAY

How the boat is used Weekends and longer  
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots  
Average size of crew 2-4  
Liveaboard? No  
Owner bought the boat in 2000  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes  
Gear that's been added yes tank tenders macerator speakers etc  
Structural or complex improvements no  
The boat's best features sailing ability points well speed 7 knots in light wind many creature comforts  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. steering cable broke it was abused in chater fuel sending unit failed replaced easily ignition key stuck easily repaired water heater blew up replaced the biggest problem is in the mast.the anchor lite and the steaming lite do not work.have had difficulty in finding competant help to go up mast and make repair.  
Sailing characterisitcs great fast boat easy handling  
Motoring characterisitcs 20 hp yanmar enough said.great most of the time until you run out of fuel.make sure fuel sending unit works before going offshore.  
Liveability we have all the creature comforts.supported by a balmar alternator.
