Location of boat Georgia
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1982
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely.
Gear that's been added Jenny, whisker pole, swim ladder.
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Great family boat! Cabin and cockpit are incredibly roomy for a boat of this length. With the board up you can run right up next to a beach since it only draws about 2 1/2 feet.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs It moves along nicely in a light breeze or under motor, which are typical in lake sailing.
Motoring characterisitcs With both outboard and rudder to aid maneuvering it handles very well.
Liveability Very comfortable for a night with my wife and two small kids. Once they got older, nights were better spent ashore.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) They have been very good. When I needed a new tiller, they directed me to their original supplier even though it was fifteen years old.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
Other comments It makes a great first boat, but not one that you will feel like you have outgrown in a couple of years.
