Review of the Hunter 260 by Jesse Mulanax

Gear that's been added Dickerson Sea-B-Que Grill on aft rails Have a Hummingbird 3D Paramount fish locator to install this winter. Installed a video camera under grill on aft rail and wired to tow truck when trailering. Works great as boat in wide and I can see whats behind me,if someone is going to pass, etc.  
Structural or complex improvements No  
The boat's best features Boat handling, mine has wheel steering. Very nice and roomy salon, sufficient sleeping for four but better for two. Boat points very well into wind, better than the old Venture 21, my previous boat.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Boat delivered with a cracked pump assembly on the Jabsco head, but Hunter shipped a whole new assembly for replacement. Wonder why rudder floats to top when released. Have to use foot to get it down. Headroom only 5' 7" and I'm 6' 1". However with the cabin sliding top that can be raised that is not much of a problem.  
Sailing characterisitcs Boat sails great. Took to coast this fall and had winds to 20 knots boat sailed well on all points. Also in light airs boat will move!  
Motoring characterisitcs Mine was delivered with a Tohatsu 9.8 and I had remote controls installed by dealer. I think this is a must! Boat will run hull speed at about half throttle in calm water, and 3 knots into a 25 knot wind with 2 foot waves. Boat rides waves better under sail than motoring.  
Liveability Haven't done it yet but plan on week ends next season.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Haven't yet as dealer took care of everything for me.  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought from dealer in Odessa, TX. He was very knowlegeable about this model boat as he owned an older 26. Suggested very good features to add for boat comes from factory pretty much bare bones.  
Other comments A great boat!!!
