Review of the Hunter 306 by Robert Garneau

Year built 2002
Location of boat Lighthouse landing, Grand Rivers, KY
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes
Gear that's been added Adding Bimini. Came with furling mainsail which I highly recommended
Structural or complex improvements NO
The boat's best features Good Value for the money. Easy to single hand. Wife and kids love the open transom. In mast furling is great. Also enjoy the airconditioning on hot summer nights.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. none
Sailing characterisitcs Very good feel with the wheel. I have used mostly tillers in the past the the feel I have with this wheel is great. A bit undercanvased for very light wind days; but most boats are.
Motoring characterisitcs motors at about 6.6 knots. Noise level is very tolerable.
Liveability Perfect for me, wife and two kids for the weekend. I would not want any more than 4 spending the night.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Lighthouse landing in Grand Rivers, KY was the dealer. They were and still are very helpful and proactive. Only have had very positive experiences with them. I highly recommeded dealing with Lighthouse Landing.
Other comments I am very pleased with this boat. Plan to have it for many yrs.
