Review of the Hunter 326 by Travis W. Cooksey

Year built 2002
Location of boat Ventura
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2001
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, but this time with all the electronic equipment!
Gear that's been added Yes, TV ant., GPS, Autopilot, solar pannel, kayak racks.
Structural or complex improvements yes, drilled a hole in the post for the salon table to be stored up top close to the headliner.
The boat's best features The looks! and the open salon!
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. lack of head room in the back master state room. The foam bedding in this state room, not enough it's too thin and very hard! The lack of ventalation or windows in this room. The location of the ice box, it's in between to "HOT" components! the engine and stove! Ive had problems already with stainless steel breaking. Having to turn the motor on to have hot water when Im out on the hook! Should also be a 12V system or propain system too.
Sailing characterisitcs from flat calm waters with light winds to Santa Anna's to high seas of 7-8 foot with 30+ knot winds. I sail in the Santa Barbara Channel. So I sail in all types of weather.
Motoring characterisitcs I motor about half the time I sail. Would like to keep the motor and sails comprable to eachother. Sometimes I have to use it to get hot water.
Liveability Awsome!
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Awsome!
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any a few ups and downs but all in all ok
Other comments They make an awsome boat! Just a little few changes in the design, but a great product!
