Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by R. Bruce Fogleman

Owner bought the boat in 1999  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. Alot of boat for the price. Just the right size (for the moment) for me  
Gear that's been added Recovered all the interior cushions. Portable canopy that covers from the mast to aft stay. Works great to keep the sun off the cockpit when anchored or motoring.New lines on the jib.  
Structural or complex improvements Depth guage.Saturn compass.A second battery.Hope to add a furlling system for the jib  
The boat's best features Comfortable for those weekend sleep overs with up to 4 people.Lots of storage space although the area under the cockpit is hard to access.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Location of the outboard. Hard to reach  
Sailing characterisitcs Very stable. I've had her heeled over up to 40 degrees sustained with no problems. Doesn't handle well with only main or jib, seems to do best with both.Seems to sail best on a close reach. Not so well downwind.  
Motoring characterisitcs No problems. When backing it works best to keep the rudder centered  
Liveability One person could live aboard for an extended period.2 for several days.3-4 for the weekend.Anymore than that for a daysail only. The cockpit just isn't big enough to accommidate more than that
