Review of the Hunter 25.5 by Randy McCord

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? As a second  
Gear that's been added 155% genoa, and blocks to the continuous toerail. Bimini, and cover.  
Structural or complex improvements None.  
The boat's best features Big Cockpit with smooth gunwales, so you can use the tiller extension, sit way up on the edge, and sail her like a big dinghy. Lots of room below, for the non-frostbiters.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Her age is beginning to show, with a smile crack across the lower gudgeon, and some separation of the glas at the toerail. Not bad, though, for a 10 year old boat.  
Sailing characterisitcs Even with her shoal draft of 42  
Motoring characterisitcs My Hunter came with a little Honda 5-HP outboard, which barely does the job. Fortunately, one can often sail out of the slip at my marina.

The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Rooke Sails in Memphis made the purchase experience a pleasant one. I recently bought a Laser from them, and will undoubtedly buy my next big boat from them as well.
