Review of the Hunter 25.5 by John Gregg

Year built 1985
Location of boat Urbanna, VA
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1999
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Without a doubt! This is our first boat and we absolutely love it.
Gear that's been added This boat was so well equiped when we bought it and the only thing I have added is lifeline cushions.
Structural or complex improvements none
The boat's best features For it's size it has an incredibly roomy interior. The cockpit is also very roomy for entertaining. The boat sails very well.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Knock on wood, everything works.
Sailing characterisitcs I don't know about other 25.5's, but ours points exceptionally well. We still use the original sails that the boat came with and haven't had any problems.
Motoring characterisitcs Our boat is equiped with a Yanmar 10hp. We never push it very hard and it does very well.
Liveability Two people could spend a week on board very comfortably.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) N/A
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
