Year built 1985
Location of boat gulf shores al
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1996
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes, most definately. this boat performs extremely well is easily handled by one person has a well thought out belowdecks arrangement with plenty of room and i also love the looks.
Gear that's been added upgraded vhf with remote, auto pilot, additional refrigerator/freezer,2000 watt inverter, added battery bank of 540 amp hours, tv/vcr, cd/radio stereo system ,bimini/dodger,dingie& motor, satnav, .....
Structural or complex improvements epoxy bottom job
The boat's best features sailing performance, belowdecks accomodations, master cabin, appearance
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. had small blisters on bottom that had to be repaired
Sailing characterisitcs excellent up wind and beam sailing not so good down wind due to the sweptback spreaders. i seldom reef but i added a second set of reef points on the main and i sail on the jib alone in heavy air with good results.
Motoring characterisitcs motors well i usually motor at 2200 rpm which moves the boat between 5.5 and 6.0 knots...the rudder is very responsive ahead and astern
Liveability the accomodations are very spacious and i love the master cabin and the two head arrangement the dinette and galley are well thought out also
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) have not had to
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any mid south sailing, gulf port ms...hunter dealer....very accomodating and knowledgeable...an excellent experience
