The boat's best features The best features of the Hunter 18.5 are a cabin and cockpit size that rival most 20 footers. The boat is also easy to single hand and launch (with the trailer tongue extender provided by the factory). The cabin is roomier than a pre 1987 Catalina 22. The styling of the boat is very attractive, and it point very well.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Problem areas of the boat include too much sailing area (excessive heeling over 12 knots), and difficulty in launching on moderately steep ramps.
Sailing characterisitcs Points well, easy to tack,.
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Good if you can get them to answer to telephone.
