Review of the Hunter 30_74-83 by Ken Robinson

Year built 1980
Location of boat Mobile, AL
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2001
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, or maybe an even larger one, but this size is fairly easy to handle and is fairly roomy.
Gear that's been added WP10 Auto pilot Hand held GPS Hand held VHF
Structural or complex improvements Not really
The boat's best features Roller Firling Auto pilot
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. All seems to work well. Knot meter sometimes takes a while to start working.
Sailing characterisitcs So far all has been fairly good. I did go a ground on my trip to home port from Mississippi on my 2 day trip, being new it did concern me, but tide came in and all worked out, I just anchored for the night, and started off at 7 AM the following morning.
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability It is fairly comfortable, I have all the necessary equipment for a long cruise, although about any size boat gets smaller the longer you stay out.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any No the transaction with smooth.
Other comments It is a nice handleing boat. We get along good together.
