Review of the Hunter 23 by Dan Ulrich

Year built 1986
Location of boat Indian Lake, Ohio
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1998
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!
Gear that's been added Depth Sounder, Stereo, Cabin Improvements etc.
Structural or complex improvements Rewired fuse panel
The boat's best features Comfortable boat (I'm also a one design centerboard racer) but I can't get used to not hiking out. Seems I don't trust the keel. Oh wellin time I suppose.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Mast dropping sucks, mast stepping probably will too, when the time comes!
Sailing characterisitcs Dead calm to 20 , helm directly proportionalto velocity, that's a good thing!
Motoring characterisitcs Tight slip, use motor for turning out of slip. After that I lock it in and the 8 hp Suzuki works just fine under tiller!
Liveability Fine for 1 or 2 if you don't mind getting
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) So far, so good!
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought from private owner!
