The boat's best features We really love the roomy interior and the two cabin layout especially the pedestal queen size bed that allows us to lie length ways along the boat"s length thus giving us a much more comfortable sleep than the transverse bed layout whose motion I find uncomfortable when the boat rocks at anchor. The gallery and main saloon is very well laid out and our boat often becomes the boat of choice when a group of us sails together and wants to dine together. This Hunter model is really great to accomdate a large group for dinner. As for sailng she's really fast and stable which makes my wife very happy. All in all a really great boat.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The interior liner is a bit of a pain. Its stained up from some leaking and we have had to clean it. The hanging lockers are a bit short also. Overall though we are happy with this vessel.
Sailing characterisitcs Sails very quickly up to hull speed in a 15 knot wind. Very stable and fast. I find when I single hand its a very easy boat to handle. Most of my sailing is in the Canadian gulf Islands and the American San Juan islands so We are not exposed to the heavy ocean swell. Very stable.
Motoring characterisitcs No problem. We generally cruise at 2200 rpm at about 6.5 knots.
Liveability Roomy and comfortable. Before we bought it a couple had lived on it full time for 3 years and loved it.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) O.K. Helpful when I required something.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any O.K. Support was quite good.
Other comments At first I really didn't like Hunter boats but the more I looked around and talked to people I got curious and finally after checking out the facts I had to admit that Hunter makes a really fine boat and one that certainly has converted me to being a big Fan.
