Review of the Hunter 23.5 by CanadianHunter235

Year built 1993
Location of boat My driveway
The boat is sailed on The Great Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2024
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes The boat was a good choice moving up from a 16 Wayfarer. I enjoy solo sailing and being able to rigg, launch and retrieve the boat by myself. Independent sailor.
Gear that's been added A jib furler and a custom mount BBQ
Structural or complex improvements plans to add storage shelves and an 12v fidge/freezer
The boat's best features The versatility to sail big lake water or inland lakes
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs A tender feel in gusty winds. 10 kn winds cruzing on a 15-20 degree heel
Motoring characterisitcs The boat monuvers well with my Mercury 8hp
Liveability 1-2 people for 3 day weekend max
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Would they make a 28 version around 6000 Lbs
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
