Year built 2005
Location of boat Bayview, ID
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2005
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, although we experience some minor problems initially we are very pleased with the boat.
Gear that's been added Dinghy Motor Lifesling Wet weather gear Freezer
Structural or complex improvements No and don't plan on any at this point.
The boat's best features Walk through transom Galley Headroom Aft transom shower Winterizing the baot was easy with the floor access panels
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Doors were warped on arrive. Wobble in the drivshaft. Performance in light winds with exisiting sail plan is not as good as I would have expected. The bimini makes it difficult to monitor the performance of the main sail.
Sailing characterisitcs Sailing in light winds with the stock sails is marginal. Performance is best with stock sails at about 15 kts wind.
Motoring characterisitcs I back my boat into a tight slip. It can be tricky but with practice is a great way to dock with the walk through transom. I usually motor at 2900 RPm which produces 6 kts of headway.
Liveability The boat is laid out very well. The galley, head and shower are conveninet.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Average to poor experience with the dealer.
