I was debating beteen a Sunfish and the Excite. I think the Sunfish is a better performer, but with a gang of small kids the Excite is a very user friendly boat. I have had as many as 4 kids onboard from ages 6 to 10 comfortably.

Sailing characterisitcs
|
The boat sails very recreationally. The boat is a little unstable in heavy down wind runs. I have gotten the boat to plane, but the center board needs to be all the way up. The boat is easly over powered in winds in excess of 20 knots and you need to let out sail inorder to have steering control.
