Review of the Hunter 22 by jeff earnshaw

Owner bought the boat in 1998  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes, this boat is amazing and quite honestly before its time. It nothing like ive seen in its contemporaries.Nowadays in the 90s you see ultimate 20s and melges 24 and they are quite similar.What I really like about this boat is that the hull is a kevlar and epoxy lay up with no core and therefore stronger and lighter than anything else ive seen and no worry of osmosis.  
Gear that's been added  
Structural or complex improvements added some storage internally, some racks above the quarter berths. and a pull out bin beneath the cockpit sole.  
The boat's best features portability I can hoist the keel bolt it up push the boat onto my trailer and be home in 1 hour.No hauling out fees and no keeping the boat in a yard a savings of $600 Cdn a year.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. the keel itself is too heavy would sacrifice the weight 300 lbs or so to make it even more portable and thus I would have to shorten the mast and carry less sail.Or one could make the drafta foot or so deeper currently its deep at five feet.  
Sailing characterisitcs very fast in light air, this boat gets to hull speed quickly and then some in even 25 knots in lower 0-2 knots wind I can start the motor and idle in gear, the apparent wind picks up and the boat picks up speed fast.
