Review of the Hunter 22 by Tom Altland

Year built 1982
Location of boat Atwood Lake
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. Great room for a 22. Handles well and is easily single-handed.
Gear that's been added A Remo-Tiller. The Remo is a radio controlled device which attaches to my tiller which allows me to steer the boat from anywhere on board. I can go below to the head, dock while sitting on the cabin side, steer from inside if it rains, and casually set the whisker pole. It's so cool that the more I use it, the more I use it.
Structural or complex improvements Only the Remo-Tiller.
The boat's best features Roominess.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs Some weather helm, which the Remo-Tiller handles.
Motoring characterisitcs Motoring down the lake with my legs dangling over the bow, single handedly, draws a lot of attention.
Liveability Good, for a 22.
