Review of the Hunter 26.5 by Juan Escalada

Year built 1987
Location of boat Washington, DC
The boat is sailed on Rivers
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2007
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? YES!
Gear that's been added New Jib, New Main, In the process of installing a tiller pilot, by way of extending the tiller wood....
Structural or complex improvements Extending the tiller was quite a chore since I removed one layer of the wood and had to flange 5 more layers into the tiller itself... I think it turned out preety good though...
The boat's best features The back bearth is hught for this size boat
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. My outboard, but I'm looking into a power tilt honda 8 hp which should work perfect for this boat...
Sailing characterisitcs I've sailed from Bermuda to VA, raced IRC races and I'm planning to cross the atlantic this summer... But no... Not in Fandango, for those long journeys I've gone in an Island Packet 42 and a Beneteau 47.7. I am planning to take my boat to Spain though... If anybody has access to a CE certification to a 26.5 or a similar model I'd greatly appreciate you contacted me...
Motoring characterisitcs
Liveability Coming from a CAL 25 I was very happy to be able to stand inside of the Hunter. the birth is incredibly big for the boat sice and the porta poty may help in the case of an "emergency"
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I haven't had much luck getting the CE certification or any pointers from them.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
