Review of the Hunter 20 by Graham Kalbli

Year built 1984
Location of boat Brookville Lake, Indiana
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? The best impulse buy I ever made. I would buy it again as a first boat.
Gear that's been added Running lights cabin lights cockpit table storage hammocks am/fm/cd radio
Structural or complex improvements no
The boat's best features Easy to learn on, really like a large dingy. Forgives my mistakes. All the nessessities of a bigger boat, but in a trailerable version without the bigger price.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Storage would be better as drawers rather than having to lift up seat cushions.
Sailing characterisitcs Have had it in winds to 15 knots, buried the rails, with no worries. Wife loves it too!
Motoring characterisitcs Have an 8 hp outboard which is ample, 4 hp would have been fine.
Liveability Not live aboard, but definately a camp-aboard. Weekends are fine for 2 adults.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
