Review of the Hunter 15 by Hollis Dwyer

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? So far, yes. Only just had my first sail in her last weekend but that experience confirmed that I had made the right choice for my requirements.  
Gear that's been added Added a Clew outhaul system Noodled Mast and Boom Installed Cockpit bags and drink holders Installed BoomKicker Changed over clevis pins for toggle pins Replaced OEM Keypin shackles with captive keypin shackles Modified mainsail with cunningham eye and installed downhaul block and tackle.  
Structural or complex improvements See above  
The boat's best features Easy to set up/break down, launch/retrieve, sail.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. For a newly released, one design boat, the owners manual has inconsistencies re the rigging information that will reduce the enjoyment that one expects when purchasing a new boat.  
Sailing characterisitcs Like any un-ballasted small boat, control of balance is most important. I see that correct crew positioning will be paramount in having an enjoyable sail. Also constant attention to sail trim in heavier winds is going to keep you on the water and not in it.  
Motoring characterisitcs No motor yet but plan to buy a 2hp so I can explore the unsailable upper reaches of our river systems.  
Liveability For its size it has a very roomy cockpit  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Only via the agent in Australia who is very professional. They answer all questions in a very timely fashion and made it very easy to import this boat into Oz.
