Review of the Hunter 37.5 by shaun

Owner bought the boat in 2004  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes.... at 10 years of age, the price to length and displacement is reasonable .... she sails easily and is a great performer in light air. Storage is limited and tank capacities are not the best.  
Gear that's been added 2 AGM 4D battery bank - the boat had grp 37 lead acid filled batteries..... not a particular desire for rough sailing conditions Nova Davit for the dingy ... tried stowing RIB on bow... problematic is rough weather and a trip hazard fwd. Anchor windlass ... do mostly anchoring - very little time in marinas ... 100' chain and a 40# bruce is a little rough on the back.  
Structural or complex improvements no  
The boat's best features Living Space, Line management, cabin layout, deck configuration  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. none noted.  
Sailing characterisitcs Light air - fantastic in 6 knots of wind = she can do 3kts medium air - 15-25 kts of wind - with a full genoa and one reef tucked in main.... she sails at hull speed very comfortably at all points of sail. Heavy air - reefed main and genoa - handles great.  
Motoring characterisitcs I have an autoprop so motoring is find... hull speed at 2300 rpm  
Liveability Have cruised for four week periods and very comfortable.... layout if fine.... not well set up for a sea berth.... should be an option on these popular boats for those that do sail extended periods ... wouldn't be hard to do.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Yes... the staff is great  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Signature in Seattle... great outfit to work with.
