Owner bought the boat in 1993
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I would buy this boat again.Model is perfect for short term needsLot of boat for the moneySufficient construction for coastal
Gear that's been added Central heat/ACAutohelm PilotNew head
Structural or complex improvements No complex improvements
The boat's best features Great interiorFast boat any circumstancesParts easy to findEasy to maintain
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Corrosion on Al spars at SS hardware contactShower and main bilge are pain in buttCracks in the pan at formed stringers near the headNeeded more deck hardware for ease of sail handlingDeep fin keel on Galveston Bay bad idea.Overpowered at 15 kts w/ full sail.Insufficient reefing
Sailing characterisitcs Don't turn yore eyes for a second or you'll be 40 deg. off course. Then again, turns on a dime and makes change. Not an ocean cruiser. Structure probably OK, but just too light to fight heavy seas for more than a few hours.
Motoring characterisitcs Yanmar has been a flawless engine. I take very good care of it.In return, has chugged along for many hours w/out fail, overheat, etc.
Liveability Excellent for 2 people for 2 daysVery good 2 people for 7 daysGood for 4 people for up to 3 daysOK for 7 people for 2 daysFair for 10 people for 2 hours
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Always received reply and help
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Broker kinda sleezy, but aren't they all
