Review of the Hunter 34 by DANNY RAY

Owner bought the boat in 2002  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, as far as the boat itself, but no because the mast is too high for most of the bridges.  
Gear that's been added no  
Structural or complex improvements no  
The boat's best features CENTRAL HEAT AND AIR, GENERATOR,GALLEY AND SALON  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. GENERATOR (WILL DIE AFTER 30-40 MIN DUE TO POSSIBLY FUEL STARVATION). BAD SKIP IN ENGINE AT LOW RPMS AFTER IT HAS RUN 30 MIN OR MORE. THAT HAS BEEN RESOLVED BY A TRANSMISSION ADJUSTMENT. FLOOR HAS A ROTTEN PLACE IN GALLEY DUE TO SOME LEAK.  
Sailing characterisitcs  
Motoring characterisitcs MOTORING EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN PLEASUREABLE OTHER THAN THE SKIPPING AS DESCRIBED ABOVE WHEN DOCKING AND THE ENGINE BECOME IN A STRAIN AND WILL LOSE RPM'S IF RUN AT HIGHER SPEEDS FOR ANY EXTENDED TIME. THROTTLE WILL NOT STAY AT CRUISE SETTING BUT WILL VIBRATE BACK AFTER A FEW MINUTES. I CAN'S FIND AN ADJUSTMENT TO TIGHTEN TO FIX.  
Liveability COMFORTABLE AND CONVENIENT FOR TWO PEOPLE FOR EXTENDED STAY BUT FOUR IS OK FOR ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS. I WISH WE COULD PASS EACH OTHER IN THE SALON AREA WITHOUT DISRUPTING EACH OTHER. WIFE COOKS GOURMET MEALS IN GALLEY AND SETTEE IS COMFORTABLE FOR FOUR. I WISH AFT COCKPIT WERE A FOOT OR SO LONGER FOR BETTER SEATING OF 4-6 PEOPLE. THE PLUMBING INVOLVING THE HEAD AND HOLDING TANK AREA HAS AN ORDOR THAT HAS BEEN A CHALLENGE TO ELIMNATE. WE ARE ONLY USING FRESH WATER TO FLUSH. WE THINK THE PIPES MAY BE CREATING ITS OWN ODOR.

Other comments WE HAVE ENJOYED THE BOAT FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS AND WOULD LIKE TO TRADE TO A LARGER BOAT. PLEASE GIVE ADVISE ON ELIMINATING THE HEAD/TANK PLUNBING ODOR AND WHAT TO DO TO FIX THROTTLE LEVER FROM VIBRATING BACK TO SLOWER POSITION.
