How the boat is used Multi-week coastal cruising
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1995
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely! She's fast, comfortable and well built.
Gear that's been added Spinakker, Autohelm, refrigerator, inverter, additional winches, various other electronics, DVD, TV, console stereo...
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Comfort, appearance, structurally sound, well-equipped
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Motor mounts were weak. I had to replace them completely the 2nd year...with no sympathy from the factory or the local dealer.
Sailing characterisitcs coastal cruising, San Juan Islands, Canadian Gulf Islands, racing (cruising class), touring thte west coast of US. Lots of Columbia river experience.
Motoring characterisitcs this boat backs up like a sports car!
Liveability Great comfort for 2 for lengthy trips. Reasonably comfortable for 4 for up to a week.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Disappointing.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any I would rather not vent about the dealer!!!!!
Other comments Great boat...wish the factory and local dealer were more responsive. This is Hunter number 3 for me...I'll probably buy another.
