Review of the Hunter 336 by Randy Price

Year built 1995
Location of boat san rafael, california
The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 16-22 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2002
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? definitly.
Gear that's been added None yet, basic equipment is more than adequate.
Structural or complex improvements none
The boat's best features floor plan and keel. Sails very well and has more than enough power when motoring.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. autohelm knot meter is broken, autohelm windspeed indicator is broken, main sail is difficult to raise. Probably would be better if not full battens.
Sailing characterisitcs exceptional sailing and forward motoring. I have not quite got the hang of backing up under adverse conditions.
Motoring characterisitcs see above
Liveability very liveable for a weekend. Probably way more liveable than comparable boats. But liveability is not my thing.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) n/a
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any would never recommend particular broker
Other comments love it.
