Review of the Hunter 33_77-83 by Steve Kratchman

Year built 1980
Location of boat Lake Carlyle, Carlyle, ILLinois
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Racing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1995
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely!! For the price and the pleasure received I do not know of another boat I could enjoy more. Easy to handle singly, quick to respond to wind changes, cuts through the waves with barely a splash, and has all the comforts I want for a boat to live on temporarily...a few weeks at a time if need be.
Gear that's been added Rigid boom vang, AM/FM/CD player w/inside/outside speakers, outside switches, radar box to hold ST50 instrument package and Autohelm 3000 autopilot, new sails, extended bimini to outside rails, new mainsheet traveler, bow seat w/safety strap, inside added indirect lighting thruout the perimeter of boat (using new tube lighting connectors
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Just overcame a perplexing port seat puddle after each rain. Installed a 1/2" drain going out to behind the rear of the cockpit into the cockpit drain. Now all is right with the boat.

The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Brennan Marine was a first class operation giving me more than I had expected including sharing the cost of bringing the boat from Saginaw, MI to Lake Carlyle, IL.
