Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by Paul Lyndon

Year built 1984
Location of boat Ft. loudon marina
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1998
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes It is well balanced good sailing boat. Not fast but depenable. This is a QUE 25 built for cruzing
Gear that's been added Foot operated water pump a flexable water tank. A new foward hatch. The boat was bought used and had a doger and bimine a 9.9 honda motor compas and depth sounder. this model is shole keel. Ineded more control of the motor and so I added a extension handle to the motor. I was having to look backwards to make adjustments in speed
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features a nice main cabin and folding table
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The ice box and kitchen is under the main hatch and I get flack from the wife if I step on her kitchen. The V birth is hard to get in and out of.
Sailing characterisitcs In weavy wind I sail with main only and it goes good. Most of the sailing is done with the standard jib. The boat handles good and tackes easy.
Motoring characterisitcs With a Honda 9.9 it moves along good. We went on a 200mile cruze and all was motering. the boat just humed along
Liveability The very max is four people. not much privicy on this boat. Best is two people. I use alchol to cook and to heat. The motor has a generator so power is enough. The cockpit is shaded so it is nice there.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) None
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any none
Other comments Problems The windows leek some. The kitchen in in a bad place. need more storage places
