Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by Larry Mongeon

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, the Hunter design for this model is good value for the money.  
Gear that's been added Depth sounder, Knot Meter, GPS, Boom Vang, Spinnicker and related equipment, Cockpit cushions.  
Structural or complex improvements Cockpit controls for all lines. The boat can now be single handed with ease.  
The boat's best features Go's like a witch in stiff breeze. Design performance is very good for a 25' This boat can put some much larger and costly boats to shame.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. As mentioned in other evaluations the foredeck takes some getting used to as it is sloped fore and there is no real flat surface however I'm sure that one reason it flies is that there is a lot less resistance with sloped foredeck.  
Sailing characterisitcs Limited to date but Lake Huron will undoubtably train me and I will update this section in future.  
Motoring characterisitcs I have a 15 HP with electric start/charge. Very pleased with performance. By the way the weight of the 9.9 and the 15 is exactly the same.  
Liveability Basic. Good for weekends and limited crusing for two adults.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Good.  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A  
Other comments As stated earlier the Hunter 25 affords good value for the money. My boat is almost thirty years old and still in good shape and hopefully will still be sailing 30 years from now.
