Review of the Hunter 25_73-83 by James Shawn Moore

Year built 1974
Location of boat St. Patrick's Creek
The boat is sailed on Rivers
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1983
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, it handles well, it is a stiff boat and is able to stand up to a good breeze. Further it does not in my opinion have a "weather helm", except when the wind blws ver 20 knts.It has alot of room below for the size boat that it is.
Gear that's been added I have added a depth finder. This I find makes a little easier to avoid those nasty places where the water is streched a might too thin. I also broght a tohatso 8hp outboard as I wanted a little more reserve power. The 6hp I before just wasn't up to it. What I want to add is roller-furlering.
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features She handles well, and is fast for her size. With the room down below she makes a very good weekender.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The only complainant is that the foredeck takes a bit of getting used to.
