Review of the Hunter 30_74-83 by Nicholas Julga

Owner bought the boat in 2000  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes. No regrets after 3 yrs. Sails very well with 2 or 8 people. Comfortable for extended cruising with 2. Solid. Low maintance.  
Gear that's been added No.  
Structural or complex improvements No.  
The boat's best features Ease of sail. Stability. Cost to value.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The gunnels do not drain due to the lowest spot being at about the winches. So there is always a puddle after a rain or a sail, and dirt colleccts as a result. Does not back up well under power but is managable.  
Sailing characterisitcs Balanced & forgiving as long as you don't try to keep too much sail up. (reef @ about 25)  
Motoring characterisitcs Good power, substantial vibration (but not as bad as single cylinder engines), backing less than perfect (see above).  
Liveability Very good for 2 but I would not describe it as spacious. More than 2 would be akin to camping in the same tent.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) No.  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any N/A  
Other comments I don't know abou the new Hunters, but I would by another old one in a heartbeat.
