Review of the Hunter 28 by Michael Shank

Owner bought the boat in 2005  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Definately  
Gear that's been added Chartplotter, GPS. Radar, Flat Screen TV  
Structural or complex improvements Covered Cockpit floor With Teak Slats Built a Backrest for the helmseat out of Teak  
The boat's best features The size is comfortable for two people. The boat is easy to sail for beginners. The walk thru transom is a nice feature of those with minor handicaps  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. I have not noticed any insurmountable obstacles I would prefer not to have to climb over the setee in order to have access to the v-berth  
Sailing characterisitcs The boat responds well to light wind. There is a bit of weather helm. Sails close to the wind well and tacks easitly  
Motoring characterisitcs Motor is efficient and reliable. A little noisy in the cabin but not to distracting in the cockpit.  
Liveability The boat is very comfortable for the two of us. We have forced air heat so it remains snug in the coldest of our climate. The aft cabin is comfortable for reading or sleeping. The forward v-berth is also pleasant for overnight sleep. It contains a lot of room for storage.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) They have answered my questions promplty and courteosuly.  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any The dealer was great. We had it trucked to its present location and the transport company and the yard that decomissioned it did not believe it necessary to stick anywhere close to their quotes for services.  
Other comments We are enjoying learning on the boat and would buy it again in an instant.
