Review of the Hunter 28 by J. L. Anctil

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes, this is my first sailboat and I was lucky to learn to sail on a boat that was so forgiving!  
Gear that's been added 3th reef in the main, Dutchman flaking system for the main, boom brake, dodger, Max-Prop, Radar  
Structural or complex improvements Water accumulation between the hull and the inside frame. Had to make a hole in the dividing wall in the bilge to allow drainage.  
The boat's best features Ease to handle in various weather condition once you know the boat.Level of comfort allowed for 2 by the spacious interior.Overall strength of the construction (tested inadvertently when hitting rocks with the keel at  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. No major problem so far.  
Sailing characterisitcs  
Motoring characterisitcs Tendency to go to starboard when motoring ahead.Difficulty to manouever in cramped spaces, (additionnal angle of rotation of the rudder would seem to help)Fresh water intake for the engine seems not deep enough and we have to keep an ear at the engine sound because of inadvertant obstruction of the fresh water intake by various water debris.  
Liveability Very good for 2

The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any This boat was the last one sold by the dealer before he went bankrupt! There were some unpleasant legal disputes during the first year !!!
