Review of the Hunter 27_75-84 by Richard W. Reck

Owner bought the boat in 1987  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I would probably have bought a larger boat in the 30 to 34 foot range. Although the boat has served me well and has never left me stranded.  
Gear that's been added Sun Shade, Bimini and roller furling  
Structural or complex improvements Only one, in the V-berth I cut about 6 inches off of a board that was installed to, I believe, hide the chain locker and bolts from the hardware on deck. Cutting off this six inches provided much more leg room in the V-berth.  
The boat's best features If you ask my wife; storage, storage and storage.Secondly, all of the opening ports, something you can't find in the new boats unless you're talking about only the most expensive ones.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. We've been pretty lucky overall, especially for a 17 year old boat..  
Sailing characterisitcs Not a racer and doesn't sail well in light winds and pointing is not one of its better features. I've sailed her as fast as six knots.  
Motoring characterisitcs Should have had at least a 2GM, boat is underpowered.  
Liveability The maximum that we've spent on the boat is a week at a time; after that, you're looking for more room.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought the boat 11 years ago and I'm still at the same marina where I bought the boat.
