Review of the Hunter 25.5 by Scott Carter

Year built 1984
Location of boat Jacksonville, Florida
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Multi-week coastal cruising
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1991
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? She has been excellent, couldn't find a better boat for the money. She is very underpriced for the value
Gear that's been added refrigeration, marine head, gps...
Structural or complex improvements solar panels, removed the dinette which opened the inside tremendously.
The boat's best features very fast and light. you can feel the speed of the wind with her quick response
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. forward V berth is suitable only for one person and the dinette was cumbersome. The downside of the lightness and quickness is that the boat will run down any mooring or anchor due to her sailing on just the hull. Deck gellcoat could be better. Have crackling on the deck. Better bedding compound and the previous owner noticing any problems would have taken care of it.
Sailing characterisitcs have sailed her on the great lakes and the caribbean. Great anywhere
Motoring characterisitcs had my 9.9 rebuilt, she doesn't use too much fuel, but the hull speed is a bit light for two cuts that want to empty the whole bay.
Liveability only lived on her for 2 years. She is a great weekender
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) none
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any none
