Review of the Hunter 25.5 by Rodger Ling

Year built 1984
Location of boat Sale Creek, Tennessee
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard?
Owner bought the boat in 1998
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? We have really enjoyed our Hunter. It's big enough to spend the weekend comfortably, but simple and easy to manage.
Gear that's been added Turbo fan and photographs.
Structural or complex improvements
The boat's best features Value for the price.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
Sailing characterisitcs Sails easily for us beginners. Best speed we've reached was 5.3 knots. Seems quite stable with a light feel to the rudder.
Motoring characterisitcs Motors a bit slowly with just a 6HP outboard (about 5.1 knots max) but it is very easy to handle and, as you would expect, backs up like a dream.
Liveability Not bad. Headroom is not quite enough for me to stand upright (I'm 6'2
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Bought the boat from Andre at Sale Creek Marina. Very easy to deal with him...low pressure...friendly...highly recommended.
