Review of the Hunter 25.5 by Herb Pease Jr.

Gear that's been added roller reefing recovered the cushions  
Structural or complex improvements what I'll call the rail inside on both sides of the salon the paint was peeling off so I pulled them out which was not hard and put formica on them. turned out just great. I'll soon be the process of putting formica on other parts where the paint is peeling off.  
The boat's best features My wife and I love the pop top and the ease of handling her and the way she sails is perfect.. Also the biggest factor for us is you feel you are on a solid well built boat. I've been on a few others but Hunter stands for solidly built.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. the only real proplem is the light on the bow where it is welded to the bow pulpit has broken lose. otherwise everything is in good shape.for a boat that is 16yrs old.  
Sailing characterisitcs she points real well and is easy to sail. the previous owner bought a catalina 37. I don't know the year but he wishes it would sail like the hunter.  
Motoring characterisitcs no problems. I have a 5hp on it and it runs fine and is easy to handle.  
Liveability Great. My wife and I have spent many nights out and for the two of us it is perfect. WE have zipped 2 sleeping bags together and sleep in the back berth under the cockpit. We only stay over night when the weather is cool.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) I have only dealt with customer service but they have always been very helpful.
