Review of the Hunter 25 by Brian

Owner bought the boat in 2004  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes It has been a great boat to learn how to sail on. Very stable and easy to handle. I still own the boat and it is in the water for my oldest son to use on the weekends. I have since moved into a Catalina 30 just for more room.  
Gear that's been added Yes. Pressurized water system, Additional deck lighting, wind speed indicator, Depth finder, & Knot meter.  
Structural or complex improvements I Added reinforced bracing under the center cockpit and fiberglassed it in to get rid of flexing the floor when more than 2 people are in the cockpit, More so to control spider cracking in the gel coat.  
The boat's best features Fast, Sleek, & Nimble. easy to handle by myself, Very stable for a 8' beem boat.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Nothing much other than lifeline stansions had to be resealed a couple of times.  
Sailing characterisitcs Great in winds up to 18 knots, Over that it is hard to control even when reefed.  
Motoring characterisitcs Very fast hull speed with a 9.9 Johnson pushing it. Realy nice for those midnight cruises when there is no wind.  
Liveability Great day sailor, Ok for a once in a while overnight stay with my wife and 2 kids. Not a weekender with more than 2 people. Cherubini did a great job on the design of the boat but could have added a few more inches of headroom for those of us that are 6' tall.

Other comments Great low budget boat or for the beginning sailor that has a small family and wants to experience the fun of sailing.
