23.5 with A/C

This is the mermaid M5 inplace. There was plenty of room, but I wanted it in this orientatation and as far to port as possible. It just barely fit with a few inches clearance for the return air. The epoxied-in platform leans a little in to starboard unfortunately, since the condensation drain is on the far (port) side. Should be an easy fix with a little hose.
You can see the water hose from the pump coming in from under the aft berth, and the condensator above and aft of the unit.

It comes with a mounting bracket which I attached to 3/4 plywood epoxied in place.

Electrical Box

The ducting under the aft berth was a tight fit. Initially there is not 4 of clearance, so the ducting is compressed a bit. It doesnt seem to have a significant impact on airflow however.

Overview of AC

Had to make a new bulkhead to keep everthing out of sight (and touch). I used 1/2 plywood and the original bulkhead for a template. There are two access hatches.

You can see the thermostat just below the companionway. I remove the stairs to allow better access to the aft berth and storage.

New aft bulkhead

This is the center access hatch under the aft berth - looking forward. The seacock goes to port to the water strainer, which then is routed to the water pump. In the middle is my depth sounder. The seacock handle just clears the bottom of the berth.

Plumbing

Better view of the water pump. I used GOOP vs epoxy to mount the pump incase it didnt work well, and the tension of the water hose twisted the pump. It will eventually be aligned fore-aft.

Ducting

Initially I thought I would have to move the battery box to the v-berth, but I just moved it forward about 2 inches and was able to get the vent in.

Cabin vent

Had to add 120V shorepower for the A/C. This was a project in itself. It is a tight fit behind the panels. I added about 3 feet to all the DC positive cables, put in a busbar, and put a panel cover (cut to fit) behind the AC panel. I also ran AC for the battery charger and a cabin outlet.
