Replacing the DC distribution center for Miss Lisa

posted 10-07-2008 by Bob Noble

On Miss Lisa our 1986 23.5 Hunter

This is the original DC distribution panel

Looking at the bottom of the new panel I added three accessory plugins for hand torches, GPS, cell phone, and other “necessities” we all end up dragging aboard.

Looking at the bottom

This whole project started when I needed just one more circuit. I considered adding another circuit to the old box. But then I wanted a battery meter, and a switch to check the output for the solar collector, and the outboard generator. And as some projects do, it snowballed into this 12-circuit DC distribution panel. It may be overkill for a 23.5 on a fresh water lake in Nebraska, but so what! As the Brass plaque on my front door proclaims…. “THIS IS MY SHIP AND I’LL DO AS I DAM* PLEASE”
