This is the keel mounting bracket. Note the shim material on the lower part of the bracket. With no shim material in the upper part of the bracket the centerboard has alot of lateral swing.

I installed the keel on the bracket and measured for the location of the new shims. 6 from the top of the barcket.

I cut two new 1 shims the full width of the bracket. I clamped them on the inside of the bracket and drilled three screw holes. No the tough part. I taped and inserted screms from the inside. It took all Saturday afternoon.

This is a piece of the old centerboard sleeve and the old pin. Note the piece of cardboard in the sleeve. To much play,

Here is the new sleeve and pin mounted in the centerboard. I set with 101 adhesive.

Paint centerboard and ready to remount.

I still have a little play but no longer have the swing that caused alot of banging and cracks in the centerboard well.
